They thought it might rain but in fact we enjoyed sunshine and fantastic competition at the South Dorset Hunt Show 2012. With great displays of show jumping, ridden showing and in hand showing it was a fantastic day to be a Dorset equestrian photographer. With horses big and small, greys, bays, chestnuts and coloureds along with many others the South Dorset Hunt Show was the place to be.
Of course it is always great to show that you are a winner with your first Beer Tankard courtesy of the South Dorset Hunt, I am sure there will be more trophies to come in the following years.
The Show Jumping arena was busy and by the end of the day the chase me charlie competition was getting to the point where we had to strain our necks to see the competitors, absolutely outstanding.
But we did not just have horses we also had a busy set of dog rings for showing Terriers, Lurchers and all many of other dogs in the third ring of the South Dorset Hunt Show’s dog show.
Of course what makes the day special is the family atmosphere of the competition and we should say thank you to the organisers for working hard to arrange the day and all the judges and ring staff for ensuring that it ran well.
Still trying to work out which of those two was in charge.
Always great when our own Dorset Royalty attends the show
